More Plodding, I Guess

I'm trying to pay attention to myself.

Just noticing when I start feeling less than serene, trying to freeze frame it, stay REALLY in the moment, ask myself what button is getting pushed, can I tolerate the feeling, do I need to hold on to that button anymore or can I toss it into the breeze.

Just noticing when I start looking for relief. Why do I need relief, what is it that I don't want to face, can I come up with it or is it swirling around under the surface.

It all unfolds. Part of the paradox is that as I get more peaceful, the more a period of unrest gets noticed, it casts a bigger ripple on the calm pond.

  1. Sure sound like a very "normal alcoholic" to me.

Or should I say, "Carol, you speak for me too!"

  2. Sometimes there is so much going on around us that we neglect paying the proper amount of attention to ourselves. Nice reminder. I try to remember that it starts at home, or with me, and then everything else will fall into place.

  3. "Toss it into the breeze." I like that phrase. I have a few things that I think would be best "tossed into that breeze." I'll do IT!

God bless as "all unfolds" in your life.

  4. I love your growing self-awareness and intensifying peace. :) I'm learning that too.

  5. Staying in the moment is so hard for me some days and then other days it is as natural as the wind or the sun rising.

I think we notice more our slip ups when we are aware and more in each moment...thus the bigger ripple.

  6. Plodding is good. Trudging is good. It's all good...
